Integrated data centre solutions for optimizing workflows within Smart cities

Centralized and Integrated data centre systems driving efficiency and innovation in digital Cities

Project Overview and Objective: An integrated, centralised data centre was constructed for this Smart city project to support the complex web of IoT devices deployed across environments. From traffic sensors and surveillance cameras to environmental monitors and smart meters, these devices generate an immense volume of data that needs to be processed in real-time to deliver the intended benefits.

Challenges: Major challenge included making sure data was private & secure while balancing technological access to citizens and impact on environmental and social aspects.

Solution: The data centre, built on state-of-the-art platforms, enabled efficient flow of data within the city on traffic, water, sewage among others.

The data centre was set-up with more than 50 physical servers, 1 PB of storage and disaster recovery facility for 20 physical servers, 150 TB storage in virtual environment and seamless failover/ failback of traffic between DC & DR.

Additionally, Integrated Command and Control Center (ICCC) equipped with viewing centers and war rooms.

Key Outcomes and Benefits: The data centre enabled the city to manage large amounts of data seamlessly, effectively supporting a wide range of urban services, ensuring they are responsive, efficient, and scalable to meet the growing demands of the digital urban environement.
